I’m Chien Yee, a hobbyist web designer / developer living in South England though I go by the online alias of Chye which is a combination of my given name. I was born in September 1991 making me a Metal Virgo Sheep. I grew up in the sunny country of Brunei Darussalam, give or take a few days of rain every month.
My personality type states that I’m an ENTJ and it’s quite true. But some aspects of my personality have been inherited from my Zodiac and Star sign. Like most sheep, I’m a family person. I love to just stay at home and enjoy the company of my family. I’m also a huge fan of Red / Pink / Purple. I’m quite knowledgeable about fashion too and lately I’ve taken an interest to makeup.
I’m a Buddhist, although my religion has aspects of the Chinese Folk Religion. I’ve also had a past with both Christianity and Islam because I went to schools that had compulsory RK, and seeing that I could not decide any religion for myself, I’ve decided to stay put in my happy little Buddhism bubble and maybe one day I’ll be able to find it out.
I also enjoy building houses on The Sims 3 because a secret part of me has always wanted to be an interior designer. And that I also like to play “God” and control every aspect of their lives. Wouldn’t it be interesting if our lives were like the Sims and someone out there is controlling us? Well, just sayin’.
I’m a bit of a perfectionist and because of that I strive for only the best. My definition of failing an exams are completely different from others, which I occasionally feel bad for. I believe that I’ve failed whenever I couldn’t finish an exam paper or feel good about my answers. I guess I try to live up to expectations too much, and this is both a blessing and a curse because it motivates me and at my worst, it could be lethal.
I’m currently enrolled in a Computer Science Degree in the University of Bath. I’m enjoying every part of my university life, and glad that it feels like a 2nd home to me – it is a beautiful place after all! After my degree, I hope to do a PGCE in either Brunei or UK and start working on my teaching career.
